Lost Phone

Hi,I know this is a long shot. Maybe someone found a Samsung Galaxy phone with a Spiderman phone lost this evening (Friday 28th January between 20:00 and 21:00) by my son? Possible locations are CHR, the road past Megan’s, across the park and Woodstock Road. We can’t trace it as the battery was flat.If, by any chance, you or someone you know has found it then please PM me on here.

Staveley Rd exemption list. Index number not on LBH emsil

LBH have confirmed that the absence of an index number in their email response to a request for exemption to the Staveley Rd traffic scheme does not indicate a flawed or invalid application.The email confirms registration on the exemption list. PCNs will not be issued.

Changes to Highway Code

Big changes coming into effect next year from 29th January to create and clarify a new hierarchy for road users, and ensure that pedestrians have priority when crossing junctions and that cyclists have priority when cars are turning. Please note also the instruction for cyclists to ride in the middle of the lane to ensure they are visible to drivers (and discourage drivers from being tempted to overtake in dangerous situations). Some may see this as a continuation of the War on Cars but hopefully most sensible people who have argued for pedestrian rights in particular will appreciate these road safety improvements.  Here is a handy graphic of three big changes for responsible road users to get up to speed:

Recycling Your Old Electricals

Lots of info on the different ways to deal with and how to recycle your electricals now that many people will have updated or have had a sort out during the holidays.  If they work - sell them or give them away (some charities will take them) or if they don't try getting them repaired.In LBH you can put small electricals out in a carrier bag with your recycling boxes or with unwanted textiles when you order a TRAID collection.In LBE there are some kerbside electrical bins and also there is the arrangement with TRAID when book an unwanted textile collection.Make sure you match your chargers and leads to their equipment so that you don't recycle parts of items that you'll later regret... Mark them so no-one will get carried away in their de-cluttering enthusiasm.  You could spend ages trying to replace them online.Many stores will take back your unwanted electricals when you buy new (and not necessarily on the day) and some will take back all your electricals.  There is also information on deleting data. 533 bus not stopping in Chiswick

With the help of Nick Rogers our GLA Member we've continued to campaign for this bus to  return to stopping in Chiswick on the A 316At Mayor's question time  Sadiq Khan agreed that making it harder for people to use public transport was perhaps counter-productive and offered to meet with Nick and me with his deputy mayor Traffic.I'll report the result.Any contributions of evidence on how valuable this service was would be appreciated. Further to Colin Jordan's request for electrician recommendations I had good experience with Dave Vincent in October.  I found him on W3.com where he had been recommended by two people. Very reasonable charges £30ph plus materials.  Only works evenings and weekends as has day job (as electrician).  He correctly diagnosed and fixed problems with bathroom light and hall lighting.I would use him again.His number is 07815 753156.

Sometimes we notice something in the news from the past or in conversation and say "was it that long ago" Well, i thought that when seeing that CH4's The Tube last episode was 35 flipping years ago. and 40 years in total. Virgin broadband problems

HiIn our little corner near Kew Bridge, several of us have been having problems with intermittent, brief, but frequent outages of Virgin Media broadband. In between the outages, speeds seem to be fine and, when the engineer comes, everything is fine!I was wondering if this problem is restricted to our little enclave near Kew Bridge or if it was a wider issue in the area. It would be really helpful to hear if anybody else in Chiswick has been having this problem. Also helpful to know if you are NOT having this problem!
