‘Republic’ Indian restaurant
Went there for lunch today and thought it was fantastic. The food is very tasty and beautifully presented. The flavours are clearly Indian, but markedly different to your average curry house. Between the two of us we had a shared starter, two mains, rice, a nan bread, a glass of wine, sparkling water and a shared dessert. That came in at under £50 including service, but it was part of the soft opening and would have been £15 more on normal days. We thought it was very good value considering the high quality of the food. They have some very skilled chefs. Lovers of more traditional Indian fare won’t be disappointed by the chicken tikka masala and perfectly cooked rice but other dishes were more adventurous. (Not a poppadom in sight!). Service was friendly, if not particularly fast. Thoroughly recommended!
