Orange/yellow powder in the local parks

Have seen it at Homefield Rec and also Dukes Meadow. Shoes are coated in it after a walk. Does anyone know what is it and if it’s harmful to man or beast?

A night in November

We saw this play last night - loved it.I was so impressed about how someone could do something like this as a one man show (his memory is certainly much better than mine!). My husband (a Belfast man) was close to tears at the end as the story resonated so strongly with him. He said it was all he could do to stop himself getting up & hugging Matthew!

Afganistan

Is anyone going to mention what is going on here- I listened to Paul farmer this morning on sky news - he was incredible and I'm afraid I burst into tears - I know this is not about Chiswick  yet but I honestly feel this will impact us all in the very near future - what is honestly going on with our world.  And God help our children and grandchildren .

Betty's Chiswick

Has anyone tried this new place yet? I read in the Chiswick Calendar that it is now open, so I have booked for tomorrow. Fingers crossed it will be a good new addition to Chiswick!

Our 'wonderful' cycles lanes

I'm probably not popular here but I honestly had to laugh at only by photo -  one bike on our roads on the cycle lane with so many cars stuck on the road- sorry can't remember where this photo was taken.   And yesterday when walking up to Chis. High Road I was nearly run down by a fool on an electric scooter on the pavement  - no noise - really dangerous -

Recycling batteries in Chiswick

Are there any battery recycling points in Chiswick?  Shame you can’t put them in the Council kerbside recycling collection.

Let's hope the clowns at Ealing council don't read this

Good news on Ealing LTN removal

7 of 9 to be removed. The ones being kept are wanted by those inside them but not the people just outside, not surprisingly.  Let’s see if Peter Mason does the decent thing.

I thought I saw a thread on the forum about this earlier today, but it seems to have disappeared. Or was I dreaming?

Does Cllr Hanif Khan really believe what he says?

In his comment at the end of the article on the amount of money being raised through PCNs issued by Hounslow Council in relation to LTNs he says, "we take enforcement measures against a small minority of drivers who ignore the rules."I'm pretty confident that almost nobody these days sees a sign for a restriction and ignores it on the off chance they will get away with it unless they know for sure there is no enforcement. The people getting fined are not ignoring the signs, they have failed to notice them. This means that 44,000 journeys have been made through Low Traffic Neighbourhoods that shouldn't have and is rendering the scheme less effective than it should be.PCNs are a blunt tool of traffic enforcement and they effectively act as a regressive tax. A large proportion of people being fined are Private Hire drivers who are often effectively working for minimum wage even before the fines they receive as an occupational hazard. The other claim he makes is that PCN revenue goes into road maintenance. I thought that it is effectively fully absorbed by the council's contribution towards Freedom Passes.
