Fantastic tiler

Just had our garden steps tiled by Darius of DS Tiling Services. https://www.dstiling.co.uk/. He took enormous care and did a lovely job. He tided up after himself and took all the rubbish away. He even managed to tile behind a tricky drainpipe. I have no relationship at all with the company, just very impressed by quality service and not at an enormous price. DM me if you would like a before and after pic

For wild bird lovers! Fat Ball Feeding Ring

I just wanted to say how pleased I am that I bought this product. It's great and I've never had so many birds feed from it - far more than from my other feeders. I've had robins, blue and great tits, woodpecker, dunnock, jay (which I haven't seen in my garden for years), magpies. Many at the same time. I bought it from a company called Vivara and it was only a tenner. CJ Wildlife sell it too. It holds about ten fat balls.  I bought a large tub from Robert Dyas and they're going fast!Just thought I'd share this to anyone who shares my love of wild birds in their garden. Get your binoculars ready!

LBH MILKING CHISWICK CASH COW AGAIN - PARKING PERMITS

A couple of months ago, my LBH East Chiswick Parking Permit ran out.  The last few years I’ve received a reminder but this year, none!  Fortunately by chance, I noticed a week later and renewed.  There is now a long thread on the ‘Nextdoor’ local website of a plethora of Chiswick Residents who have been Issued PCN’s as they didn’t received the usual reminders and overlooked it.  The response was that it is the car owners responsibility to renew.  If they’d never sent reminders then fine, but this smells of another wheeze for LHB to milk the Chiswick Cash Cow.  It’s now so blatant with the record number of  PCNs being issued across Chiswick are to further milk us.  I suggest those with cars check when their permits run out!

£2,000,000 + fines for Hartington Road

Great post from Cllr Giles on the homepage. And as I write she’s having a drink with some locals in Grove Park. Cannot imagine any of what’s been dubbed by some in W4, as the “Brentford Taliban”, getting such a warm welcome!

NO WONDER PEOPLE HAVE HEARING PROBLEMS

I live by Chiswick Town Hall and the loudness of the Pub in the Park music tonight is frightening. Imagine what it's doing to the people actually there!

Petrified of wasps

This is getting stupid now...... I am too scared of wasps to go and pick some carrots from my veggie patch.  Even if I see one ten metres away, I am running for cover.I feels like they are all after me (which I obviously know they aren't!).Any one got any helpful advice to try to help me overcome this fear?  It has definately got worse since I was in Greece two weeks ago, as they are everywhere there! Please help!

Pot Pourri

Very sad to see that this Chiswick icon is leaving to move to Kew.Happy that they are still continuing though and wish them every success in their new home.Apparently the new tenants for the shop are a (brace yourselves) mobile phone servicing company. The shopfront and flat's doorway entrance is one of the few remaining characterful and original shop frontages left in the High Road. Is there anything in place that can prevent it being ripped out and replaced by the ubiquitous lurid plastic signage?I know that Cafe Nero had to preserve the frontage of the Tyser Greenwood estate agency when they took it over. Anything similar for this shop and doorway?

My cup runneth over or maybe not!

The autumn edition of around Ealing arrived today, how have I coped since the summer edition tumbled onto the mat? Alternatively known as 'propaganda on the council tax', does it really cost as much as keeping the Stirling Road tip open for a year? On an alternative tack, a council employee was in our cul-de-sac early on Thursday morning picking up a few pieces of paper to drop into a green bag. I'm worried that it may be our annual road cleansing visit, last seen with a full sweep in May of last year. Maybe it's down to the fact that Pitshanger is a Conservative area or maybe they are as inept as they regularly come across.

Business day trip to France- Covid exit/re-enter advice plz

I have to go to France (Amber list) next week for the day on business, in and out within 16 hours or less on the same day.  I’m getting conflicting advice on what I have to do to pre-exit and re-enter the UK. Any advice from somebody who has had to do this would be very welcome.  Thank you in advance
