You have to admire these really clever people.

Never ceases to amaze me how some people go from highly paid job to another highly paid job with, apparently, not a lot of experience in any of them. Reports are that Adam Crozier (remember him?) is leaving ASOS to join the board of BT in November. Previously Mr. Crozier was head of the Football Association, ITV Chief Exec.and the, Royal Mail Chief Exec. Clearly this is a man who is utterly brilliant at everything from football to postal services and everything else in between. What he isn't so brilliant at is the fact that under his tenure at Royal Mail he also oversaw much of the disgraceful persecution of the sub postmasters between 2003 and 2010. The prosecutions rocketed and as we know no-one at the top was listening. It seems Mr. Cozier wasn't that bright that he had the intelligence to ask why or whether it was even likely 'there were so mnay bent sub postmasters'.

Use 'em or lose 'em....

went to Saigon Saigon last night for the first time since we were all allowed back in...had a fantastic meal with superb service- had a chat with the lovely lady who runs the place afterwards - she said they've had to make a number of changes in the last year- the menu /selection is noticeably smaller- when i asked why she said they'd lost a number of their kitchen staff to covid  and had lost the skill and knowledge of prep & cooking some dishes in the process - on top of that all their supply lines from vietnam either stopped or have become more difficult/costly - and on top of the that, all the restaurants in king street, including them had 4 feet of water in their basements after the rain the other weekend...despite all of this they are opening up every day and waiting for the crowds to return - its was about 1/2 full at best i think. So- if you want this kind of diversity and quality of restaurants around the corner ( as opposed another deliveroo "blind" /kitchen restaurant, lets get out there and use 'em or we'll lose 'emcheers

Dog boarding recommendations

Sorry, I know I posted something similar recently, but surprisingly got no responses! I am still looking for someone to board our labrador over the bank holiday weekend, from the Thursday to the Monday - has anyone got any suggestions?I did mention locally in my original post, but in fairness, they don't need to be Chiswick based, just somewhere in West London would be good,  and somewhere decent!If anyone does have any recommendations or ideas, I would love to hear them! Hartington Road

Can anyone let me know when the traffic restrictions came in for Hartington Road?  I turned into it from the Great Chertsey Road on Sunday evening and have received a penalty charge from Hounslow this morning.  I didn't have any idea restrictions have come in, and would be grateful if somebody could enlighten me. Serves me right, I guess!

Parking permit query help

I have swopped my car to avoid Mayor’s ULEZ.   I am in the CC zone.   My old car is going to a good friend in distant Sussex.   But only going next week, 7 days after the newer car arrives.    Can anyone tell me whether i should use Change of Vehicle permit, or just pay a one month temporary charge of £38?The Hounslow website tells me I cannot use the Temp. £38 permit until it arrives… [by post] and yet the Hounslow Permit site also shows it will expire exactly 30 days after tomorrow!   I do not want a daily PCN here in Dale Street!   Any Taranto Hounslow help is appreciated.   Confused.
