Noise Radar

I wonder why we have not heard whether the council have not considered using noise radar? Traffic noise shortens life and causes heart problems. A loud motorbike crossing a town can wake up numerous residents.

That would certainly put the nail in the coffin of having your groceries delivered given the warning alerts when backing a lorry up. Personally I find it a bit intrusive at 9pm.

If what you say is fact, then we accept that choosing to live in a city with traffic shortens life and causes heart problems. I doubt what you say is true.Otherwise move to to the country. I hear Guildford has its charms,

Isn't the problem that in certain areas there may be groups with crazes for removing silencers from exhausts - and possibly racing their vehicles on the public roads as well.I heard that that they are using noise radar in Paris.

Intrusive yes, David, but nothing in comparison with a scooter sounding like an angry hornet, a powerful motorbike when the accelerator is blipped, or a car with loose (or perhaps deliberately removed) silencer baffles. I'm all in favour of noise radar to quieten our streets.

Agreed, Robert. Let's not forget the guy cycling on the pavement most afternoons headed east boom box blaring on the back of his bike. Yesterday it drowned out the two e-bikes zooming on the pavement on behalf of Deliveroo and Just Eat. Roughly 4:30pm. Mind you the pavement is a mess due to construction.
