The only time I've been sick on a plane when I was about 10 flying on my own and it was the circling Heathrow that did it.  We eventually landed at Gatwick.  There's an A380 that's been around a couple of times already. They definitely deserve that round of applause when they get down.  It's gusting so it depends a lot on luck too.  There was earlier one from Bordeaux to Gatwick which gave up and went home

Yep,you get 3 attempts at putting a plane down otherwise you have to divert. Quatar A380 made it on 3rd go

Top stuff Julian!My old man was a filmaker in the Royal Navy Film unit during the war.One of his assignments was to make instructional films to help aircrew land on carriers.By good fortune I have some of the footage he made of landings on HMS Ravenger which was not one the navies finest carriers, more of a converted cargo ship! . Most made down (God knows how) others not so much!

Wind is 250/35 gusting 60 so it's more or less down the strip but lots of windshear about so sporting. Must be fun for the passengers! :)

Thank's Julian, that's marvellous stuff.My parents met during the war when Ravager was operating off the Isle of Bute and where Dad had shore leave. Funny old world.
