Dog biting passersby today on Turnham Green Terrace
Just before noon, walking North on the pavement of Turnham Green Terrace, a dog from an al fresco patron at Sam's Larder bit my leg. I alerted the owner (woman, 70 years old +, short grey bob), imploring her to invest in a muzzle, but was waved away, pulling a face. Two other al fresco patrons who witnessed the attack were disgusted, telling me I wasn't the first; the dog, a small black short-haired Jack Russell or similar breed, had attacked several other passersby in the same manner.Given the dog had broken the skin, the chemist advised me to get a tetanus shot immediately. I'm posting this to advise anyone who had been bitten, that if you haven't had a tetanus jab in many years, you must do so asap. West London Pharmacy on Chiswick High Road will do it on the spot for £37.00.To the owner, I have advised Sam's Larder management. I will remember you and expect that should I see you with your dog again, it will be muzzled. I understand how much your dog means to you, but you have both a moral and legal responsibility to muzzle your dog. There are some very good local animal behaviourists and dog trainers (perhaps they will contribute here), who can help you to address this behaviour in your pet. Please do this before your dog bites a child or frail elderly person.
