Hi All I’ve just had this update from the incident lead from Thames Water re our supply. He’s suggesting people fill a kettle tonight just in case but all being well we are on the home strait. “Hi OllieApologies for the delay in the promised update. Our teams are working on another valve, which once opened, will bring further water into the area. Our systems are showing the pressure is better than it was yesterday at this time, and once the valve that is currently being worked on by teams is opened this will add further water, and in time over the evening, build more pressure into the network. We cant guarantee there will be no interruptions to supply this evening, so I would suggest filling a kettle for a cup of tea/coffee. I have asked my colleagues to send a SMS to customers in the area to advise the same in regard to potential supply interruptions during periods of high demand. I have also been advised that the issue began owing to the contingencies put in place, ordinarily would have been enough to keep all in supply, but the demand has been so high this weekend and caused pressure to drop. It has been during these periods of high demand that the low pressure/supply interruptions have been occurring. The repair on the large main that has burst will be going ahead tomorrow, it needed to be planned in owing to the area/impact it could have. Someone from Sarah’s team will reach out tomorrow and pick things up from there. Again, apologies for the disruption caused over the weekend. Kind regards”
