Operation Chis-choke

getting back into full swing again after some rather distressing scenes of unabated freedom of movement around Chiswick. Buses from Hammersmith taking up to 45 minutes on a good day, and from the old Town Hall down to the A4 up to 30 minutes! Lime bikes usefully blocking pavements here and there too. Time for some more roadworks and strikes anyone?

Do, please, take photos of the dumped Lime bikes and send them to the two Hounslow cabinet members. Guy Lambert who is in denial about the dumped bikes problem and Catherine Dunne who 'owns' the transport portfolio. They are both paid in excess of £30,000 each in allowances for their part time rôles to resolve such issues.

Is Guy Lambert in denial, or just taking the route of denial.  I'm not sure they are the same thing.  As for Katherine Dunne, she couldn't help if she wanted to, she has to obey those controlling her and it isn't the Council Tax payer.

Hounslow's mismanagement of the road network impacts on Ealing residents and beyond. The closure of Occupation Lane EALING sanctioned by Lambert extends journey times for patients visiting the Clayponds Rehabilitation Unit. The barriers in Whitestile Road leave no alternative route while the roadworks in Windmill Road, partly in EALING continue unchecked. The closure of Swyncome Avenue continues to cause pollution on Boston Manor Road and Boston Road EALING. Sadly the blinkered vision 9f Hounslow councillors does not extend to a wider view.

That doesn't answer the question. Ealing's capitulation to angry motorists makes it a dangerous borough to cycle through and has only made its streets even more traffic-choked and unpleasant for everybody. It is going backwards fast while Hounslow moves forward but as I do not pay Council tax or vote in the Borough Mason and his Cabinet have no obligation to listen to me and I do not encourage people to spam their inboxes with inane complaints. What makes you and Maggie so special and entitled that people you cannot vote for and to whom you pay no tax should do your bidding?

You need to get out more chap. The removal of the LTNs in Ealing means the traffic is now far more free-flowing than when they were implemented without consultation. The restrictions vastly increased pollution on peripheral streets. The cycling infrastructure in Ealing is very good indeed with long stretches of major roads covered with clearly demarked or isolated cycle lanes.If I could still cycle I could travel to Chiswick, Ealing Greenford Southall and beyond while only having to share the carriageway for very limited stretcheslease don't criticise what you don't understand or have never observed.

No, not in denial about anything.I disagreed with your nonsense about them being dumped all over the place, when 99% were just parked, and the most of them perfectly sensibly.The ones (a few I think) being abused after the revisions to the rules of where to leave them are being followed up with Lime who are determined to deal with the hacking problem (also greatly exaggerated, but a genuine problem)I cycled down CHR from Hammersmith, and on to Brentford this morning. Saw one fallen over (in the pen) and every other one I saw was in a pen, properly parked. There were a few out being used by people, none of them was 'clicking'. None parked outside a pen. Of course, they will not be perfect. There's also usually a car or two parked on yellow lines on CHR but they have hazard lights flashing so that's OK.I did have to stop for a minute whilst a bit of road rage between two cars played out (nobody injured, just pride)

Two dumped (laying on their side is not parked) outside the BMR entrance to Blondin Park half an hour ago. Hardly nonsense.  Another on its side on the pavement outside The Mille. Never mind, shouldn't expect amy better I guess. Well done, Cllr Lambert 🤣🤣🤣

You are probably the last person I'd take advice from on what constitutes safe cycling infrastructure so I will ignore your utterly incorrect evaluation of the situation in Ealing. The Council knows it's going backwards rapidly.But that isn't the point here. The point is that entitled Ealing residents have no right whatsoever to make demands of Hounslow politicians. And that means that the voice of a LCC member in Hounslow is of infinitely more relevance than the voices of Nigel and Maggie.

All of my family, save for my wife and I, cycle and have no issue with the safe cycling infrastructure provided in Ealing. I am, not entitled but have every right to question and criticise politicians, be they in Hounslow or beyond, whose short- sighted decisions impact on Ealing's residents.

Indeed, the people of Hounslow deserve far better for the price they pay for these amateurs.  Nothing at all wrong in encouraging Hounslow residents to engage in communication with their expensive representatives. Lambert's continued denial does nothing to discourage me. When Occupation Lane was closed, making it a haven for drug dealers and extending ambulance and patient journey tomes he denied there was an issue. Comprehensively proven wrong.

When i get time i will post photos Many are not using the bays,and some are parked all over the place but not in a bay itself Infact the bays dont seem to be the only place you can park them. Geo fencing, how accurate is it?I live very near the border between Hounslow and Hammersmith and often see Lime bikes riders  being propelled towards Hammersmith.How far will they get I wonder?  I have seen Limes outside Ikea on more than one occasion.BTW there is  a Mobike dumped under a bus shelter near me.Maybe I should confiscate it and donate it to Gunnesbury Museum suitability labelled, Fools rush in where angels dare not tread.

Guy,As we used to be near neighbours, I hope you will believe me when I say that last Saturday afternnon as I cycled off the A316 through Dukes Meadow into Staveley Road I counted 21 Lime Bikes left not in designated spaces, a number of them lying down. Another day I saw three Lime Bikes left in Devonshire Road, more of less in sight of the two designated spaces around there. The system is not working

Report any Mobikes to FixMySTreet. Hounslow Highways will deal with them. Nothing wrong with Limes heading for Hammersmith, where they have been active for several years.This was presented to Chiswick Area Forum I believe (I couldn't attend)Scheme ‘geo-fencing’ prevents users from ending their trips outside of the parking bays. The geofencing is 6m from the centre-point of the bay, with a further 6m buffer to allow for ‘GPS drift’ (ie GPS inaccuracies). However, at the end of each trip, users are required to take a photo to confirm that they have parked in a marked bay. All trip end photos are reviewed by Lime and those clearly not complying will be warned/fined/banned from the scheme in accordance with Lime’s discipline policy.

I now intend sending pictures of dumped bikes to Cllrs Dunne and Lambert so when the nasty accident involving a pedestrian eventually happens they will not be able to wriggle out of their responsibility and would advise others to do the same and use a read receipt when sending

In Ealing Lime eScooters are geofenced to limit their speed to 5mph when going past a school. But anybody can drive a two tonne SUV as fast as they please past the same schools. One day people will look back with astonishment at the choices we made during the decades of car supremacy.

This week I have cycled along Promenade Approach Road (off Endsor Rd) three times on my home from the pool.First time there was a Lime standing slap bang in the middle of the Approach. Yesterday it was joined by another lying on its side.Today a third has appeared along with a Dot. The first Lime having been tagged with red spray paint.I will be back there on Monday. Could there be six or seven by then?Exciting isn't it!

One Lime Bike jammed into a hedge beside the 440 bus stop in Oxford Road North. Unable to pass between the obstruction, so had to get out of my transport and attempt to move the bike. While doing so, tripped over the stand and luckily landed in the hedge instead of the uninviting hard pavement.This is not the first time this has happened, I have a video of the other time this happened only I was able to squeeze passed that time.It looks as though someone who wants to catch  the 440 rides from where they live and leaves it at this bus stop..I travel around the borough quiet a bit, but it just isn’t the  Lime Bikes that get it the way. It’s bad placement of street furniture which sometimes completely blocks your entrance to roads.When I go out it’s like planning for a long journey, so you miss the roads you can’t access. Kew bridge is an obstacle and a half, I cannot cross at any crossing point as the pedestrian islands are to small for me to negotiate with my vehicle.
