Note for J Yari

If anyone knows a Mrs J Yari, please let her know that I picked up her two bank cards on the corner of Wellesley and Burlington roads. If she hasn’t cancelled them, I have them and will get them to her. If I don’t hear from her by tomorrow evening, I will  destroy them.P.S. The cards don't belong to the owners of Yari Tailors in East Sheen in case someone googles the name to help.

Walk-in vaccinations Tuesday 13th Fountains Leisure Centre

If you are over 40 and have not yet had your jab, then you can turn up today (Tuesday 13th) at Fountains Leisure Centre  and get a jab without an appointment (the reason is that they are very quiet). Today only - tomorrow (Wednesday) they have 450 appointments

Brexit resignations

Isn't it the case that every one of the resignations over Brexit, from David Cameron onwards are really because all these people know in their heart of hearts that there is no such thing as a Brexit that would be better for the U.K. than E.U. membership?  Nobody wants to be the one to lead us over the cliff edge.It would be hilarious if it wasn't so damaging.

Lost engagement ring & metal detector challenge

Dear all - last week I lost my engagement ring somewhere down Woodstock Road or near the climbing tree on the common opposite the Post Room & zebra crossing. It is a trilogy ring with a central sapphire. Does anyone own a metal detector and like a challenge?? I would be forever grateful. Thanks, Alice

Probate question

My mother has recently died and left myself and my brother with equal shares of the house. Low value no inheritance tax payable. My brother is executor of will and would like to live in the house and buy out my share. I have no problem with this   I has anyone experienced this when going through probate.  Do we need deed of variation on will or  how do we transfer property to his name.?Thanks

Gardener needed

I have been asked by an elderly couple if I can find them a reliable gardener to attend on a regular basis.  The per hour charges need to be reasonable.Their garden has a small lawn and mainly shrubs, roses and flower bed.Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Washer dryer question on F13 error message

My Hotpoint washer dryer is 10 years old. I dried 2 loads but after 20 minutes of the 2nd, the panel was flashing the error code. I've read up on it and the drying sensor is to be replaced (a bit of a palaver to do and I reckon I'll need a handyperson who knows what they're doing... more than I do!) but could it just be it overheated? I suppose I could continue to use the washer TIA!

Carpenter recommendation - for shelving

Hello - I just need some simple shelves (floating) cut and installed to replace the existing slightly flimsy looking ones I have in my lounge. Any recommendations for a basic carpenter? (I don't need any bespoke high end carpenter, maybe more of a handyman..)Thanks!Deborah

Residents Parking Permits - moving house

I am moving house soon from Chiswick Station (CS) residents parking zone to Riverview (RV) zone. It appears from the LBH website impossible to change my parking permit or get visitors permits until I have a council tax letter or utility bill - both of which I can't get until I move in. Am I missing something or does anyone know a way around this please? I have emailed the Council which gets forwarded to Serco and they basically say no!

Underfloor heating engineer

We are looking for someone to service and improve on the ground floor heating, run from our central heating system. It was installed about 5 years ago and works really well, overall, but the thermostats need attention.

Scaffolding- recommendations please

I have been asked to help find a reliable scaffolding company for the front of a 3 storey terraced house in Chiswick.  The repair work will take 2 to 3 weeks.  Cost will be a factor but it is many years since we had scaffolding so I have no idea what sort of price to expect. Can anyone recommend a company.
