Pot Pourri

Very sad to see that this Chiswick icon is leaving to move to Kew.Happy that they are still continuing though and wish them every success in their new home.Apparently the new tenants for the shop are a (brace yourselves) mobile phone servicing company.The shopfront and flat's doorway entrance is one of the few remaining characterful and original shop frontages left in the High Road. Is there anything in place that can prevent it being ripped out and replaced by the ubiquitous lurid plastic signage?I know that Cafe Nero had to preserve the frontage of the Tyser Greenwood estate agency when they took it over. Anything similar for this shop and doorway?

Yes, very sad that Pot Pourri is moving to Kew.  And very important that this stretch of the High Road should be appropriately conserved. It is in the Turnham Green conservation area and that spot is noted as a "positive contributor" to it, as described in the most recent appraisal:https://www.hounslow.gov.uk/info/20010/planning_and_building/1868/conservation_area_appraisals_and_maps
