Street Lighting Down Grade
Our road was one of the first roads to have the new 38watt LED head install by Hounslow Contractors.Which at the time gave us a very much darker place to live, we had nice pools of light under the lamp post but made certain stretches of pavement and walkways very dark the further you walked away from the lamppost.Yesterday 21-06-2022 while working in the garden, two very nice gentlemen appeared to replace the perfectly working LED head on the lamp post outside my house, for a new replacement.I got chatting "as you do" to find out what the job was all about.The LBOH contractors have replaced the 38 watt head for a 20 watt head with a sensor built in the top to dim them from a control room, and to paint the lamppost black, why? what wrong with aluminium.I left to 23:00 (passed my bed time I know) to go out and check the level light the new 20 w head was producing.As expected the new head is not performing as well as the old 38w headmaking the old dark areas even larger than they were before.In fact since the original Installation we have needed an extra lamp post install to illuminate one area that is very dark at night.Still don't know why LBOH picked on me as I seem to be the only head replacement so far. Thank you LBOH for making walking about the area a lot less safe than it was, and if you start dimming the head I wont be able to see very much at all at night.
