Tree Surgeon Recommendations?

It's been quite a while since anyone has recommended a tree surgeon on the forum.Does anyone have someone they've used recently, are still trading and would happily recommend?I can't get the service directory to work for me. My mother needs to fell a tall tree in her garden and there's a large 80+ year-old Bramley to prune.Thanks!

An interesting survey conducted on Richmond Town Centre. Turns out I'm not the only one to have spotted the number one challenge to its attractiveness. Acton's virtue is that it isn't posh but offers practical and good value alternatives to what is available in Chiswick.

New 'Police station' for Chiswick

This is obviously welcome news. Reading between the lines though it seems both the council and local Chiswick councillors have made some very well-timed suggestions that such an offer from Birchgrove might make their planning application go more smoothly. If this is the case, they have played their hand well and deserve our respect and admiration.

Fines for engine idling in EALING

I'm embarrassed to have voted Labour in EalingThe two Councillors just love themselves in a photoshoot.Local Authorities were granted enforcement powers on this well over 20 years ago by EU devolved through  Govt.  indeed I saw a poster in the Central library in Ealing regarding this.. when I contacted Ealing on the subject I was told it was not possible for traffic wardens or other on street employees to enforce this as it was not written into the contract. the posters were merely a sign posting exercise as funding not available

Hello. It's many months since I last posted, as, following an accident and a spell in hospital, I now need a full-time live-in carer. My dishwasher needs attention, but I've been unable to contact Mr Da'Souza for advice. Is he still working? Do I have his correct number? Any advice would be most welcome.

Illegal workers in Chiswick High Road cafes

First I should declare an interest as I am occasional visitor to Hothouse Cafe due to the dog friendly policy, reasonable prices and friendly atmosphere.I don't condone the employment of illegal workers or the payment of staff below the minimum wage. However, it seems to me that Samy has been punished already for these offences and paid fines which probably exceed what he might have saved or has been lost to the tax payer. I understand that trading conditions are hard and that turning a blind eye to a lack of documentation may have appeared like a victimless crime but the rules are there for a reason. Although exploitation doesn't seem to have been an issue here - it certainly is at other businesses across London.The Home Office may have the power to intervene in a licensing matter but it seems to me to be vindictive for them to do so. If the loss of a licence closes the business, one man loses his livelihood and the legitimately employed staff will have to look elsewhere. Another independent business will close and business rates will go uncollected. Whether or not Hothouse should be allowed to have a licence should be a matter for the council and decided on the merits of the application alone.

Maggie and Rose clubhouse closure

Dear community Are there any other members of Maggie and Rose on the forum? We were told last Monday evening that the clubhouse would have to close temporarily due to staffing issues. Reason that is completely understandable, however there is no communication about temporary solutions whilst closed, plans shared about when it can reopen and so on. It does seem they may close completely but it seems impossible to get any replies. Anyone else in the same situation?
