Reporting driving offences
My philosophy is to try not to get mad, but to get even. The Metropolitan Police are actively encouraging submission of video footage of driving offences from smart phones and cameras. Anyone can do it. They have a very easy to use website specifically designed for this purpose. I have a couple of very subtle cameras that I run on my Dutch bike having had a few unpleasant experiences. I gives me a lot of confidence. Inconsiderate or dangerous driving, close passes, driving through a red light, driving into a bike box when the light is red and using a mobile phone are illegal and the driver is likely to receive 3-6 points and a fine. When someone drives at you, or decides to put you or someone else at risk it’s a simple and restorative process. I’ve been doing it since October 2019. Twenty reports, seventeen prosecutions. Website here for anyone interested...https://www.met.police.uk/dashcam
