Anyone else having problems with Netflix?

Evening. I understand with most of us now having to stay in, streaming services like Netflix will be under more pressure to deliver, but has anyone else experienced their account suddenly appearing as unregistered?The family has tried to log on tonight, and basically it is saying no account exits with our email address, despite the fact we are registered and do have an account!Just trying to find out if this is peculiar to us, or a general glitch due to high demand.

Food boxes for NHS and Social Care workers

Why can't the Government get it's act together to provide food boxes for NHS and social care workers, distributed at their places of work.This would:A: Protect key workers from the risk of contracting the virus whilst shopping;B: Reduce the risk of key workers with high exposure to infected people from passing the virus on.C: Reduce an avoidable stress on key workers at a critical time.The idea is easy. The logistics straightforward. Please email your MP to get this implemented ASAP.

Kew Gardens Closed

Just received an email saying that Kew Gardens is closed today as they cannot guarantee the social distancing required. Presumably, they were expecting to be very busy as it’s Mother’s Day. What a shame. They said they will monitor the situation and open as soon as possible.

Lost black and white cat

Our very friendly black and white cat Lola has sadly gone missing, last seen on Emlyn Road on 10/03/2020. She has yellow eyes and is very popular in the neighborhood. We have posted posters through our Neighbour’s letter boxes and made enquiries with local vets. She’s a lovely cat, was wearing a collar the day she went missing with our phone number on (although this may have fallen off) and is microchipped. She’s very much missed and so would be extremely grateful if people could keep an eye out for her in case she decided to hitch a lift in a delivery van etc. Thanks!

Update from Charing Cross Hospital Corona virus

I am half way through chemo for cancer. This week chemo has been cancelled. I have now been fast tracked for surgery early next week.  Any post op chemo or radiotherapy will not happen till current situation is over. Day case hopefully.  If op is not cancelled. They are not scheduling any surgery after next week. Had a pre op yesterday. Was not looking forward to visiting hospital but it was a Ghost town. Only saw two people the entire time I was there. They are bracing themselves for an avalanche they know they can’t cope with. You could see the fear in the eyes of my consultant and nurse. It was palpable. This is very real it is coming our way fast so don’t wait to be told what to do. You know what you have to do to keep yourself and others safe and help in a small way to lessen the burden on our NHS. Good luck everyone.

A doctor writes...

I’m on a WhatsApp group with 40 of my year from medical school who are now mostly very experienced consultants and general practitioners covering multiple specialities. It’s fair to say everyone is anxious. Four have had Covid19 already. A 51 year old ENT surgeon in the UK with no previous health problems has just died of Covid19 after doing his normal job. There are other doctors in the UK currently on ITU with Covid19. Doctors and nurses are are particular risk from this disease, probably because some will receive a high inoculating dose of virus. Please don’t carry on as normal. Don’t mingle. Help your neighbours. Keep distance from others. We need to keep as many people as possible staying healthy over the next 4-6 weeks. Stay positive, but please be responsible.

Waitrose and M&S Stripped of Fresh Veg. Stalls on the High Road Amply Stocked

Can some one explain the logic of this to me? If I buy food at the supermarket I am in an enclosed space with scores of people and social distancing is impractical. If I buy at a stall there is a counter between me and the person serving me and no crowd.

Update from Greige Lifestyle re Opening

Further to the local shop opening update on the site earlier today we just wanted to give a quick update. As a shop selling non-essential items we decided to close after business yesterday until further notice. We have a small warehouse in Chiswick and will be sending online orders only from there - just the owners (John & Pauline) will be doing this. We are offering free local delivery. Due to our product type we have had a 90% drop in online orders over the last 10 days. Yes, it is a very difficult time for all and financially devastating for us, but we had to stand by our morals and make the decision to close the shop for the safety of everyone.  However, we would like to thank Jo and the ChiswickW4 team for their support, as we realise they are only trying to help in this ever-changing nightmare #stayathome #staysafe

Just wanted to say that Wild Swans is now closed for the foreseeable. In case anyone read the ‘HOW LOCAL TRADERS PLAN TO OPERATE DURING COVID-19’ articleHowever we are still open on-line and happy to make local deliveries by bicycle. Obviously understand we are not a vital service but if you want to have a high street when all this is over, please support your local independents however you can.
