Food boxes for NHS and Social Care workers

Why can't the Government get it's act together to provide food boxes for NHS and social care workers, distributed at their places of work.This would:A: Protect key workers from the risk of contracting the virus whilst shopping;B: Reduce the risk of key workers with high exposure to infected people from passing the virus on.C: Reduce an avoidable stress on key workers at a critical time.The idea is easy. The logistics straightforward. Please email your MP to get this implemented ASAP.

Honorable suggestion but I can't help thinking that, with approx 2 million workers in the health and social care industry, the logistics will be anything but straight forward.

M&S in Kew had practically everything today - even eggs - so I'm hoping the panic is subsiding. Also, oddly, I cycled past three Sainsbury's lorries 'parked' on the S Circular between Chalker's corner and M&S. There's frequently one there but I never saw 3 before.

That would be good.  I hope people aren't too precious and fussy about it.  Many of these workers will be having to do work they haven't specifically trained for and working long hours.  Anything to reduce the stress will be helpful.

The government doesn’t need to organise food boxes, the supermarkets could priories these workers really easily, they have a system in place already just needs the will which I am sure they will do.

The military understand the concept. Ask the supermarkets to make up however many 3 day ration packs are required and supply them in bulk to hospitals, clinics, GP surgeries, etc. Repeat every 3 days. Sure, it's hassle, but worth it if it allows health and social care workers some relief from the stress they're under.
