I have an industrial fan if anyone would like it-collect from Chiswick.It is a Sealy HVD24 Industrial High Velocity Drum Fan 24" 230V. Weighs 14.5kg and the dimensions are: L16 milli x W 82 milli x H 16 milli.

The Italians new bus gate

There are new lines painted on the road following the work outside The Italians/Connollys pub.  On the road past the double lines it stated ‘Except buses’.  Can cars turn left from CHR up to Chiswick Park station? There are no signs to say no but the road message is confusing.

Anyone know "Jenni Bayly"?

We have had a small parcel for the above named posted to our flat in W4 but no-one in the building knows who this is. Perhaps it's the right street, but the wrong house number?Normally I'd just pop it back in the post as "Return to Sender", except that this one came from Australia.Anyone know who this might be or how to contact? (I've tried googling the name, but no luck)

Total Gridlock! 2.0 CHR version

So next Sunday, the 27th, Chiswick High Road will be closed. The reason remains a mystery. The extent of the closure remains a mystery. But I've only seen signs by Chiswick Lane and the bus garage so perhaps the closure is limited to this end.Riddle me this: when eastbound gridlock occurs and there is no choice but to turn left/north on Turnham Green Terrace, will people get tickets? Ditto turning right/south on Devonshire Road.

Fishers Lane - angry scenes

I’ve just witnessed a very angry woman standing in the middle of Fishers Lane blocking  the traffic, which she quite rightly said, shouldn’t be driving through there now and demanding they turn around. Drivers saying they didn’t know about the closure and had seen no signs. There were very angry exchanges on both sides of the argument with several drivers out of their cars and with pedestrians. A white BMW advanced on the woman trying to force her away. The resulting queue went back to the roundabout on South Parade which was already gridlocked. Quite a spectacle for the children in the playground. Hounslow and Ealing really need to get together to sort out these chaotic new closures before road rage ensues.

RNLI Paddleboarding Rescue

Paddleboarding and kayaking have increased in popularity - but like anything things can go wrong.Several years ago in Oxford with a couple of very small just learning to talk children in pushchairs we watched a couple of paddleboarders take their boards down to the river and get ready to launch.  This included their mobile phones on curly cables.  As one of them prepared to dip his mobile into the water there was this loud chorus of "No!" from the pushchairs.  You can just guess where these children were not allowed to put their parents' mobiles...I was reminded of this when I received this RNLI twitter clip: https://twitter.com/rnli/status/1305872518499237890?

Driving Question

I am sure this question has been asked before, but if I have to drive east and I turn onto the high road from Chiswick Roundabout, how am I supposed to get to the Bedford Park area? If my understanding is correct, Acton Lane is only for buses, Fishers Lane is closed and so is TGT? Do I have to go to Goldhawk Rd to get to Bedford Park?

Removal of traffic islands on the High Road

Has anyone else experienced how dangerous it now is to use the pedestrian crossings along the High Road with no central island when traffic flow is high?  This seems to be yet another example of incompetent execution of highway changes with little prior thought about the interim consequences.  Temporary island should be in place until the cycle lane works begin?  As if Chiswick does not have enough to deal with?
