Please note changes to Putney polling station for election day

as Elliott School station is replaced

If you though you would to vote at the Elliott School in Putney  you should be aware that this is one of the six sites in the borough that has been changed for the forthcoming Parliamentary Election on Thursday, May 5th.

The Ashburton luncheon club at 101-103 Carslake Road will replace Elliott School in Pullman Gardens. Poll cards delivered to households in these areas will indicate clearly that the polling station is at a new location for this election.

Wandsworths Acting Returning Officer Gerald Jones said: In choosing the location of polling stations, we have tried to keep changes to a minimum and to avoid closing schools wherever possible.

"Three of this years changes were as a result of the location not being available anymore and one other is to reduce the distance residents had to travel to their polling station. The final two changes will operate for this years election only, and are due to ward boundary changes made in 2002 not yet aligning with Parliamentary boundaries.

This year we have continued to look at means of improving access for the disabled and as a result we have added access ramps to make it easier for the elderly or disabled to enter stations that have a difficult step.

Other changes not in Putney:

In the Battersea constituency, Battersea Park Library in Battersea Park Road will replace the Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church at 32 Battersea Park Road, while the Katherine Low Settlement at 108 Battersea High Street will replace the Sacred Heart Parish Centre in Trott Street.

And in Tooting, residents in the Heritage Park area off Tooting Bec Road will use Bruce Hall in Brudenell Road instead of St Anselms School, Tooting Bec Road.

Some residents who last year voted at the One OClock Centre in Heathfield Road will instead cast their ballots at Swaffield School in St Anns Hill. Residents who have previously voted at West Hill Library will now vote at the Civic Suite in Wandsworth High Street.
