A 29-year-old man has been shot dead in West Kensington in the early hours of Sunday morning (4 September).

Residents of a nearby apartment block by Kensington High Street reported hearing multiple shots at around 2.02am.

When the police arrived they found the victim, Maximillian Kusi-Owusu, with gunshot wounds and treated him until the arrival of the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

He was then transferred to a major trauma centre but was pronounced dead a few hours later.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The police have set up a cordon around the area of the shooting and were seen towing away a dark SUV.

Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody.

At this early stage anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC giving the reference 824/04SEP.

Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
