Police believe he remains in London and may have been involved in another robbery
Police are continuing to appeal to the public to try and help in the search for John Slavin, who absconded from Springfield hospital, Glenburnie Road , SW17 at around 22.20 on Tuesday the 18th November.
Police believe Slavin has since undertaken the robbery of a bookshop and are releasing a CCTV from the shop to aid in his recapture.
The robbery took place at 20.45 on Wednesday the 19th November on Gloucester Road, SW7 when a man entered the bookshop and threatened a member of staff with a knife before escaping with a small amount of money.
John Slavin (19.6.64 - 44 ys) is white, approx. 6ft 3in tall and of thin build. He was wearing a black jumper, black coat, blue jeans, brown shoes & black beanie hat. He has a goatee beard and short dark hair. He has tattoos on his left arm and hand - details unknown.
He is on remand to Southwark Crown Court charged with aggravated burglary.
Officers believe that he is still in the London area and may have been involved in another robbery where a laptop was taken from a clothes shop in Leadbury Road, W11 at around 14.45 on Friday the 21st November.
Slavin, has a mental health condition which he is prescribed medication for. He currently does not have access to this medication and we would urge members of the public not to approach him. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should get in touch with police immediately.
Both men were being assessed at the hospital for mental health conditions. If members of the public see either man they are not to approach them but to dial 999 immediately.
