Popular local restaurant appears to have closed down
Italian restaurant and cafe Del Buongustaio appears to be no more as disappointed diners have been arriving to find the place closed up.
A sign has been displayed on the window of the premises by the landlord saying that notice has been served on the restaurant and forbidding them to gain entry.
The restaurant did close up during the Summer months for a holiday but the latest closure does appear to be permanent. It leaves some local creditors who may now not be paid for goods and services supplied to the restaurant.
The closure is surprising given that the Del Buongustaio was one of the more highly rated of local restaurants in the Putney area, even given the number of other places serving Italian food. Despite a location slightly off the main drag it appeared to be doing a good trade.
We have contacted the owners of the restaurant to ask if the closure is for good but have not received a reply.
