March 20, 2026
The Putney Society will hold its Annual General Meeting on Monday 23 March at 7.30pm, bringing together members to review the past year’s activities and elect officers for the year ahead.
The meeting will take place at the Community Church on Werter Road, SW15 2LL, with the option to attend in person or via video conference.
The evening will begin with formal business, including approval of the 2025 minutes, presentation of the Annual Report and Accounts, and elections for key roles including President, Vice Presidents, Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Executive Committee members and Independent Examiner.
Following the business portion of the meeting, guest speaker Clare Frankl Bertram, Chair of the Friends of Putney School of Art & Design, will give a talk titled “The importance of participation in Arts: finding your tribe.” Her presentation will explore how creative engagement can foster stronger connections between individuals and their neighbourhoods, and the role of the arts in building inclusive, resilient communities.
The Putney Society encourages all members to attend and take part in shaping the organisation’s future direction. The AGM offers a chance not only to reflect on the Society’s work but also to consider how the arts can support civic life in Putney.
For details on how to join the meeting online, members are advised to check the Society’s website .

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets. We've always done that and won't be changing, in fact we'd like to do more. However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do. One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.
