On a cold, damp evening on Tuesday (5 December), commuters arriving at Putney Station were greeted with the festive sound of Carols being sung by local Community choir, the Dover House Singers.
The performance was in aid of Age UK Wandsworth, a local charity completely reliant on its own fund-raising efforts. The repertoire was a mixture of traditional carols, and more modern pieces including Jingle Bell Rock and Rockin' around the Xmas Tree, both of which gave singers and Age UK volunteers the opportunity to try out their slightly dubious dance moves. Some passengers stopped for a while to listen and take videos providing quite a party atmosphere.
Age UK Wandsworth is celebrating its 60th and provides help for older people in the borough. Anyone wishing to donate may do so via its website.

The next event by the Dover House Singers will be a free Christmas concert this Saturday (9 December) at St Mary's Church in Putney High Street at 7pm. No charge. This event will be in support of ReGenerate Rise,
The choir will directed by Carl Speck.
