Local group continues to keep music part of the new normal
Socially distanced harmony with the Doverhouse Singers
In these unprecedented times the Doverhouse Singers are keeping their spirits up with a series of small victories.
When restrictions made it impossible for them to continue singing in person they continued via Zoom.
Whilst the summer saw them forced to forsake their usual concert, they nevertheless managed a coronavirus regulation compliant get together on Putney Common.
After restrictions lifted, they were able to resume singing together in person at St Margaret's Church with the Zoom option left open for those unable to join them.
The most recent of their small victories is their Christmas Concert which they have filmed and have placed on YouTube to share with everyone.
The Doverhouse Singers continue to support their chosen charity, Regenerate Rise, who do much for the isolated elderly people in Putney. Any contributions can be made to them via their JustGiving page.
For anyone interested in joining the Doverhouse Singers in their endeavours to keep music (and whatever socials the coronavirus regulations will let them get away with) very much a part of the new normal we find ourselves facing their contact details can be found here.
They meet at 8.00 pm on Wednesdays usually following the school terms.
According to their musical director, Carl Speck, the months ahead will see them focusing on "songs we just love" in the run up to what they hope will be their Summer 2021 concert.
In addition to his work with the Doverhouse Singers Carl also offers online options to sing with him via his Pub Choir and Good Morning Choir.
