Road Works Ahead in Putney and Roehampton

Heavy rains delay Putney Bridge Road closure

The planned closure of Putney Bridge Road for resurfacing work on February 22 was cancelled. The road will now be closed on Sunday 1 March and on Sunday 8 March between the hours of 9am and 4pm. A traffic diversion will be in operation on these days.

Chiswick Bridge is also due to shut this Sunday so serious traffic delays are expected across south west London.

The changed timetable is in response to long period of heavy rain which affected progress and increased local traffic disruption.

The project is seeing large areas of the road surface between Armoury Way and Putney High Street broken out and replaced.

Throughout the resurfacing project work is being undertaken between the hours of 9am and 4pm to avoid peak traffic levels.

Residents living in the affected area can contact engineer Paul Swallow on 020 8871 6686 if they have any concerns.
