Overnight works planned for A3 & A306
Transport for London will later this month begin carrying out overnight work to repair and improve the road surface on two major trunk roads in Roehampton.
The A3 Roehampton Vale and the A306 Roehampton Lane will both undergo resurfacing work from the expected start date of Sunday, February 15 until the scheduled completion date of Friday, March 12.
Work will only be carried out overnight between 10pm and 6am and only from Sundays to Thursdays, weather permitting. This is to ensure that motorists and bus passengers are not inconvenienced during the working day.
TfL says that at certain points during the project, noisy machinery will need to be used. They have however stated that all the noisiest elements will be completed by 1am and that they will do everything they can to keep disruption to local residents and businesses to a minimum.
The stretch of carriageway that is to be resurfaced runs south along Roehampton Lane from its junction with Alton Road to the A3, continuing westward along Roehampton Vale to Stag Lane.
Transport for London’s head of highways Nick Aldworth said: “Roehampton Vale and Roehampton Lane are important routes for through traffic. These vital works will bring benefits to Londoners by eliminating cracks, rutting and pot holes on the carriageway. The work will be carried out overnight to reduce the amount of disruption caused, as well as maintain road capacity as much as possible.”
Local residents who require further information either before or during the works should contact TfL’s Streets Customer Services department on 0343 222 1234 or email enquire@tfl.gov.uk.
