Victim stabbed repeatedly at block of flats in Roehampton
Wandsworth police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 36-year-old man was the victim of a serious assault on Tuesday, 11 April on Bessborough Road, Roehampton at approximately 2:30am. It is thought that the victim was involved in an altercation inside a block of flats on Bessborough Road, where he was stabbed approximately seven times.
He managed to escape and alert a Number 72 bus that was travelling down Bessborough Road. He was taken by LAS to a south London hospital where his condition was described as life threatening, but he has since made a full recovery and been discharged.
DC Nikki Blair, said: “We are appealing for any information or witnesses to the incident. We are especially anxious to hear from a man believed to be called John Wallace (photographed right), or from anyone who knows him. He is described as white, approximately 35 years old, 5’8” tall with mousy colour hair. He is known to frequent the Roehampton area and has links to Kingston. It's possible he may have important information to assist with our enquiries."
A 41-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman both from Roehampton were arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed to return to Wandsworth police station on 8 and 9 June 2006.
