John Wallace stabbed his victim repeatedly at block of flats
A man has been jailed for eleven years after being convicted of a serious assault in the Roehampton area.
John James Wallace, aged 36, of Sunshine Way, Mitcham was sentenced for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He must serve a minimum term of five-and-a-half years’ imprisonment before he is considered for parole. The parole board will only then release him if they are of the opinion that he is no longer a danger to the public.
He had earlier pleaded guilty at Kingston Crown Court on for the assault that took place in Roehampton on in April of last year.
On Tuesday, 11 April 2006 at around 2.30am, police were called to Bessborough Road, Roehampton to find an ambulance crew dealing with a man who had been stabbed.
The 36-year-old, who had been stabbed six or seven times, managed to scramble aboard a Number 72 bus travelling down Bessborough Road, and the driver called the emergency services.
The man was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital where his condition was described as life threatening, but he made a full recovery and was discharged.
John Wallace was arrested in Mitcham on November 2nd and charged with assault with intent.
