Body Discovered on Barnes Common


Police treating case as a suspicious death

The body of a man has been discovered on Barnes Common this Thursday morning (13th October). Police were called by passing motorists who had seen what they thought was a body in undergrowth just off Common Road, near junction with Mill Hill Road

The man is Asian and aged in his early twenties. He appears to have suffered a serious head injuries although it is not known as yet whether this was the cause of death.

The police are treating the case as murder and forensic teams have sealed off the area. Common Road is currently closed to traffic according to our latest information.

Recently the police issued a warning that robbers may be operating in the Putney and Barnes Commons area by luring gay men into isolated areas. The police are not at this stage linking this incident with an attack of this nature.
