TV presenter heads up traffic-free cycle this Friday
Families are being invited to join TV presenter Gethin Jones on a special traffic-free bicycle ride this Friday.
Ex-Blue Peter and current ITV Breakfast Daybreak presenter Jones, will be in King George's Park, Wandsworth, where he will meet those taking part in the Sky Ride Local bike ride and share his cycling adventure stories.
However, there are only a limited number of places on the exclusive hour-long ride, which starts at 12.45pm and is ideal for cyclists of all abilities. To be in with a chance of securing a place on the one-off ride email SkyRideLondon@freud.com.
Registration closes at midday on Thursday, August 16, and those selected to take part will be emailed conformation of their place. Anyone joining in will need to arrive at 12pm - refreshments will be provided.
In partnership with British Cycling and Team Sky, Wandsworth Council has been staging bike rides and inviting residents of all ages and any skill level to join in and explore the borough on two wheels.
Rides have been arranged for beginners, experienced cyclists, and those in between - so everyone can pick a ride to suit skills and enjoyment. There are also goodies on offer to children who join in one, two or three rides.
Each ride sees British Cycling-trained ride leaders - friendly local volunteers who love bike riding and want to share that enthusiasm - guide groups of around 16-24 people along the routes.
The Sky Ride Local rides are all free to join, and it is easy to register. Simply visit www.goskyride.com/wandsworth and click on the ride you want to take part in to sign up and book places.
Visit the website for the full list of rides on offer and detailed information about each one, including when they take place and where they start.
Places are limited so anyone keen on taking part should book soon to avoid disappointment.
The council is a keen supporter of cycling - to learn more visit www.wandsworth.gov.uk/travelchoices.
