Wandsworth Police appeal for witnesses
Police in Wandsworth borough are appealing for witnesses after a man fell from Battersea Bridge into the River Thames on 3rd May.
Police were called at approximately 18:45hrs to reports of a male having been seen to fall from the bridge and then spotted in the water before sight of him was lost. The tide is understood to have taken him towards Albert Bridge.
Searches of the water have been undertaken by the Metropolitan Police
Service (MPS) Marine Policing Unit, and the Coastguard and officers on
the north and south sides of the river have conducted searches on the
banks. As yet the male has not been found.
The man is described as white, with dark hair, aged about 35-45
years old and possibly wearing a grey hooded top.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time
the man fell from the bridge and anyone who may have seen his movements
or behaviour before his fall into the water.
At this early stage the incident is being treated as non-suspicious.
Anyone that can assist police are asked to call police on 101.
