What Was It Like Living In Wandsworth In The Past?

Walks, talks & discounted shopping at the Wandworth Museum

To celebrate Wandsworth Heritage Festival the Wandsworth Museum will be hosting several activities

Thursday 7th June, 2012.
Coronation Memories
at the Museum cafe from 4:00 – 6:00pm. If you are old enough to remember come and have a spot of tea and share your memories of the Queen’s accession and coronation. The atmosphere of the 1950s will be recreated with our collection of Wandsworth and London memorabilia for you to handle and experience. Bring along some of your 1950s memorabilia for others to view and have a chat about.

On the evening of 7 June, the Museum will also be holding a special Late Night Opening from 6:00 – 9:30. Both the Wandsworth Museum and the De Morgan Centre will be offering free entry and visitors will receive 20% off most items from the Museum shop.
Coinciding with the late opening they will be hosting a historical walk lead by local historian and Friend of the Museum Sean Creighton, called “Wandsworth Museum Building: What are its links with the slavery business and roller-skating?” The walk begins at 4:45pm at the corner of Broomhill Road and West Hill and will arrive at the Museum at 6:00pm for the late night opening.
The walk is £5 per person.
