Kids invited to enter The Story Lab
This year’s Summer Reading Challenge kicked off in borough libraries on Saturday (July 14).
The challenge aims to keep four to 11-year-olds reading during the summer holidays, introduce them to new authors and encourage them to get through six books before they return to school.
The theme this year is Story Lab - children join Professor Cortex in the Story Lab, a five-sided hi-tech HQ that attracts stories from all over the world, allowing children to read, collect, share, transmit and broadcast their favourite tales across the globe.
Every time children complete a stage, they receive goodies including a bookmark and key ring. All children taking part will receive a certificate and those completing the challenge will be presented with a medal.
All the Wandsworth Libraries are offering the Reading Challenge until Saturday September 9.
If you are not already a library member you can join for free. Call in at your local library and sign up to take part. For more details visit the Family Information Service website.
Find out more about what's available at your local library, and about all the 24/7 online services available via Wandsworth's new e-library, including e-books, at www.wandsworth.gov.uk/libraries.
