Conservatives win large majority in local borough
32.2% of eligible voters in Wandsworth turned up at polling stations on Thursday last week giving Conservatives 39% of the local vote in the election for the European Assembly.
Labour came second with under a fifth of votes cast and the Greens pipped the Liberal Democrats into fourth place.
The Christan Party received 10 more votes than the BNP who failed to make the gains some had predicted by coming only 7th in the local area. There is no specific representative for Wandsworth in the London Assembly - these votes go towards the selection of the London-wide members.
