New recession fighting web page launched
This new section of Wandsworth website provides information on the different ways the council can help residents and businesses to cope with the economic downturn.
The pages offer assistance for people looking for work, advice on managing household finances as well as help for the borough’s business community. There are contact details for the officers in charge of the different schemes as well as links to useful services from other organisations.
The section also explains the advantages Wandsworth maintains over other areas and provides information on how the council is stimulating new investment to counter the effects of the downturn. The pages will be regularly updated to reflect the council’s latest initiatives.
Leader of the council Edward Lister said:
"Wandsworth has launched a raft of measures to fight back against the recession. The new webpage is a one-stop-shop for residents and businesses looking to take advantage of these valuable services. "They bring together the various initiatives we have put into place and make them easily accessible to the people who need them most."
