Woman Rescued from Southfields Flat Fire

Blaze took hold on fourth floor of block in Stoford Close

A block of flats in Southfields was hit by fire in Southfields this Thursday (1 March).

The blaze took hold on the balcony of a fourth floor flat in Stoford Close leading to four engines being required to attend.

One woman was rescued by crews wearing breathing apparatus suffering from smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.

The Brigade was called at 11.21am and the incident was over around an hour later. Fire crews from Wandsworth, Battersea, Wimbledon and Chelsea fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
