More bets being place on local constituency in election than any other in the country
The candidates for Brentford and Isleworth
The Brentford and Isleworth constituency is seeing a higher level of betting than any other seat in the country according to bookmaker Ladbrokes.
When we asked them if they could explain why there was such a high level of activity in the local contest they were unable to explain why. Ruth Cadbury is defending a wafer thin majority for Labour against Mary Macleod who used to represent the area for the Conservatives before 2015. The third candidate is Joe Bourke who once again is fighting the seat for the Liberal Democrats.
Current polling suggests a Conservative win if national trends are reflected locally but Mary Macleod’s opponents will be hoping that local factors and their anti-Brexit stance will give them a chance to buck the trend in the rest of the country.
At the time of writing Ladbrokes have Mary Macleod as the 4/1 odds on favourite with Ruth Cadbury at 11/4 and Joe Bourke at 50/1.
Other local seats also appear in the top ten with Twickenham and Richmond Park attracting the interest of punters.
