Entries sought for the borough's first business awards
The hunt is on for Merton's best businesses as the borough launches its inaugural business awards.
Merton Business Awards 2010 have been developed by Merton Council, South London Business and Merton Chamber of Commerce, in order to reward and celebrate the many dynamic and innovative businesses in the borough.
There are 11 categories for entries, ranging from Best Green Business to the Wimbledon Village Business Award for Customer Service and Entrepreneur of the Year.
Entry to the competition, which is backed by WSM Partners LLP, is free, and there will be a gala awards dinner on September 22 at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, with 270 invited guests, shortlisted companies and sponsors.
Diana Sterck, Chief Executive, Merton Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise Agency, said: "As the borough-based Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise Agency, we are very excited about the awards. They will showcase both the sponsors and winners and help put Merton businesses on the map in these challenging economic times."
Entries close on July 16 and there is more information available on the Merton Business Awards 2010 website.
