Arts project celebrates diverse society through children in aid of Great Ormond Street

Internationally acclaimed photographer Richard Bradbury is launching a brand new arts project for London celebrating London’s diverse society through its children, while raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

‘The Children Of London’ will be a stunning photographic archive of images of children throughout the length and breadth of the city of London in 2010. As an annual project, it will create a long-term record of the way our children live in our capital city for the benefit of future generations.

Richard is now looking for a wide cross-section of no more than 200 children to appear in the book. Families of each chosen child will be asked to make a donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital in return for their place in the book. The hard-back, high-quality book will feature images of up to 200 children and the first 500 copies will each be numbered and signed by the artist.

Numbers one, two and three will be presented to Her Majesty the Queen, The Prime Minister and the Mayor of London. A few selected copies will be auctioned – with all proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Hospital – while the remaining copies will be available for public sale. An advertising photographer for over 25 years, Richard Bradbury's images have appeared on the covers of many prestigious publications from ‘Time’ magazine in New York to ‘Time Out’ in London. In the last year, features on his work have appeared in ‘The Sunday Times Magazine’ in UK, ‘View’ (Stern) in Germany and ‘El Semenal’ in Spain.

He says, “This is the most significant project of my career. I feel that this publication and the images contained within it will inspire and educate many generations of Londoners to come - as well as raising much needed funds for a wonderful organisation”.
