Hounslow Council new scheme provides free collection
Local businesses can recycle their electrical waste for free and save money on collection, as well as valuable space.
Hounslow Council has signed up to a scheme providing free collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment for businesses and organisations in London.
Cllr Colin Ellar, cabinet member for environment at the council, said:
“Local businesses can find it hard to dispose of electrical items, so I hope this new service will encourage more recycling.
“You can recycle anything – big or small – from an industrial fridge-freezer to a pocket calculator.
“The service even accepts items from home if employees bring them to work and include them in the collection.”
The scheme was recently launched through a partnership between DHL Envirosolutions and SWEEP (a London-based recycling facility).
Currently operating in a number of London boroughs, the service will expand across the whole city this summer. To find out more or book a collection visit www.123recycleforfree.com
