Nominations Open for One Hounslow Community Stars Awards

Hounslow borough residents are being invited to celebrate the borough’s unsung heroes as nominations open for the One Hounslow Community Stars 2026 awards. The annual programme, led by Hounslow Council, highlights the individuals, groups, organisations and businesses whose everyday actions strengthen neighbourhoods, support others and help make the borough a more connected and vibrant place to live.
From volunteers who give their time quietly and consistently, to young people leading positive change, to businesses investing in their communities, the scheme aims to recognise the people who rarely seek recognition but whose impact is widely felt.
This year’s awards are shaped around five themes designed to help residents think about the breadth of contributions made across the borough: Neighbourhood Hero, Green Champion, Business for Good, Inspiring Young Person, and Culture and Creativity. Each category reflects a different aspect of community life, from environmental action to creative expression, and the council is encouraging residents to consider anyone whose efforts have made a meaningful difference.
Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, Leader of Hounslow Council, said the awards offer a chance to acknowledge the remarkable work taking place every day. He described One Hounslow Community Stars as an opportunity to celebrate the people and organisations who make the borough such a special place, noting that many of those nominated will be individuals who contribute quietly and without expectation of praise. He encouraged residents to put forward anyone who has made a positive impact in their community.
The awards will culminate in a celebration event recognising this year’s community champions, supported by the council’s partner organisation the Hounslow Herald. The event will bring together nominees, supporters and local leaders to honour the contributions that help shape Hounslow’s identity and strengthen its sense of community.
