Have a Splashing Time this Half Term

Children invited to enter the first ever London Puddle Jumping Championships

Children of all ages are being invited to grab their wellies and join in the first ever London Puddle Jumping Championships at WWT London Wetland Centre during the half term week from February 13 to 21.

Points will be given for style, creativity, enthusiasm and size of splash. There will be a prize each day for our selected ‘super-splasher’ and the London Puddle Jumping Champion will be selected at the end of the week, with the chance to go on to further glory by becoming WWT’s Big Splash national champion.

Bring your wellies and wet weather gear and come and have a splashing time! Use your imagination to impress the judges with the biggest splash. Throw some shapes in the air for extra style and points!

The official competition will take place at 2.30pm every day from Saturday February 13 to Sunday February 21, but there will be practice jump sites around the grounds so you can try out your technique before the Big Splash each day.

Dave Green, Centre Manager at London Wetland Centre says: " This will be a lot of fun and we’re sure that children who love puddles will grow up to be adults that enjoy the outdoors. So through the Puddle Jumping Championships we’re gently nurturing a love that may help protect wetlands and the wildlife that depend on them for years to come. "

The competition is free with paid admission to the Centre. Every contestant will receive a sticker to acknowledge their puddle jumping skills.
