Gary Oldman has been spotted filming scenes for the hit Apple TV+ drama Slow Horses on Askew Road. The Oscar-winning actor seen on Wednesday 18 February shooting outside a launderette. Oldman, dressed as the dishevelled MI5 spymaster Jackson Lamb, was pictured entering the premises at 108 Askew Road.

The production is understood to be working on the sixth series of the show, which is based on Mick Herron’s novel Bad Actors. Although the book contains no launderette scenes, the television adaptation has repeatedly used a launderette setting for covert meetings involving Lamb.

We originally reported the launderette had closed having seen the premises boarded up but residents have pointed out that it remains very much open and a valued neighbourhood facility. Operating since 1977 it is particularly useful for people without a dryer in their home. Its customers are keen to see it survive with rising energy costs and rates making times tough for smaller operations like this one.

Scenes have previously been filmed at a working launderette in Hornsey, suggesting the Askew Road shopfront is being repurposed for the new series. Lighting rigs were positioned above the entrance to illuminate the interior as Oldman performed the scene.

Oldman wore Lamb’s trademark battered brown trench coat as he rehearsed and filmed the sequence, while a full crew surrounded the location and controlled the street during takes.

There have been a number of locations in west London used in the series already broadcast. Confirmed filming locations in recent years include the Hammersmith riverside, which featured in Series 5, as well as Shepherd’s Bush backstreets used for short exterior scenes. Acton industrial estates have hosted interior sets and vehicle work, and Chiswick Business Park has previously doubled as office exteriors and is believed to have been used again in late 2025.
