Kim Dero Appointed as Council's Permanent Chief Executive

And promises 'to make H&F an even better place to live, work , invest in and visit'

Kim is delighted to have been given the backing of councillors and says: "I welcome this fantastic opportunity to lead the transformation of council services; we need to be even more responsive to residents' needs, more agile and more innovative when developing early help and preventative approaches.

"Our staff are our assets and I value their hard work and passion - I'm looking forward to working together with councillors, staff, residents and borough businesses to make H&F an even better place to live, work, invest in and visit."

The appointment has been hailed by the council’s Leader, Cllr Stephen Cowan, as confirmation of the outstanding leadership Kim has provided over the last seven months.

"In H&F we believe in doing things differently to the way they’ve been done before and in
radically rethinking our relationship with local people," he said. "Kim understands and shares our world view and has proved her ability to make change happen.

"Being a great leader takes energy, drive and the imagination to see better ways of doing things. Kim has all that, as well as a great capacity to connect with people, whatever their background. We’re honoured she’s agreed to take on the role permanently."

Kim takes over the reins from former Chief Executive Nigel Pallace, who left in March after two years in the role.

At the time, it was rumoured that his departure was part of the council's plans to end its 'tri-borough' arrangement with neighbours Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster, though this was denied by the council.
