"It was brilliant, a really nice space, with all the flowers, all my friends, it was just fabulous," says Emma.
"We were able to decorate it ourselves and the register office staff were really helpful.
"It was spot on, exactly how we wanted it to be. It was a bit different and everyone was impressed."
As this was the first wedding to take place in the Grade II listed library on Fulham Road, H&F Council says it marked the occasion by waiving the usual fees for Emma, 36 and hubby Toby, 35.
The happy couple live in South London, but have family in Fulham and booked the library in Fulham Road, after looking at lots of other venues.
"We were looking for something that wasn’t a church, says Emma, who recently returned from her honeymoon in Bali. " We just saw it and thought it was great.
"It’s a really nice space and it’s a really good size. We had a look at other registry offices and they could either hold 40 people or a couple of hundred, there didn’t seem to be anything inbetween."
Built in 1908, the Grade II-listed library’s main hall, on the first floor, has space for up to 120 guests. It has well-maintained features, such as original wooden book cabinets, which can provide the perfect backdrop for photographs.
H&F Council is now keen for other couples to follow the couple's example and book the library for their wedding or civil partnership.
