Hazrat Wali was stabbed to death in Twickenham
A boy from the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham has been charged with the murder of Hazrat Wali in Twickenham.
The 16-year-old appeared in Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 16 October accused of stabbing the 18-year-old to death on a football pitch.
The playing fields at Craneford Way near Richmond College were sealed off after emergency services were called to reports person being seriously injured at 4.45pm on Tuesday 12 October. The victim was pronounced dead at 5.54pm.
66-year-old Alistair Potter, who lives opposite the park, said, “I saw police and students milling around, obviously very upset, and ambulances too. This is all a bit shocking really.
“Police presence is not very far away of course so they are out quite quickly.”
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating.
