On Garratt Lane's former Atheldene Day Centre site
Floreat Education – a Department for Education approved Academy Sponsor – is set to open their first school in Earlsfield in September 2015.
Called Floreat Wandsworth Primary School, it will be located on the site of the former Atheldene Day Centre on Garratt Lane. Demolition works are already well underway, and with work progressing as scheduled, the roof could be on as early as November 2014.
Driven by Wandsworth Council’s decision to increase local school capacity, this new two-form entry primary will provide additional school places and add choice for local parents.
The school will provide children with the core skills of literacy and numeracy using the tried and tested programmes Read, Write, Inc. and Maths Mastery. Floreat also aims for pupils to develop a deep and broad cultural knowledge through the study of traditional subjects from Reception onwards.
