Cards for Good Causes is stocking up for the Festive Season in Putney

Over 25 charities cards and more all available under one roof

It may only be September but a little bit of Christmas is coming to Putney with the opening of the Cards for Good Causes seasonal shop at St Mary’s Church, Putney High Street on Friday 30th October 2015.

The UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas card organisation is once again decking the halls in its Putney shop in St Mary’s Church, offering an array of festive cards and Christmas gift ideas.

Staffed by volunteers, the outlet sells cards for more than 25 national and local charities, including The Royal Hospital for Neurodisability, Trinity Hospice, Shooting Star CHASE and The Rainbow Trust.

This season the Putney shop celebrates its 10th year in St Mary’s Church. Join in the celebrations on Saturday 7th November from 11am onwards.

Angela Holman, local volunteer shop manager said:
“Our seasonal shops are a great way to prepare for Christmas while at the same time providing an important source of funding for charities. In keeping with the Christmas spirit, sending charity Christmas cards allows you to give twice, once to friends and family, and again to worthwhile causes of your choice.”

People can find the Putney shop by looking out for the Cards for Good Causes’ distinctive triangular red Santa sign on the railings of St Mary’s Church in Putney High Street by Putney Bridge.

In the past five years, charities have received more than £20 million from Cards for Good Causes - representing at least 70p in every pound out of which charities had to pay for the production and distribution of their Christmas cards and any VAT.

The Putney seasonal shop is part of the Cards for Good Causes’ national network of over 300 shops, selling cards for around 275 charities and staffed by more than 6,000 volunteers.

It is open from 10am until 4.30pm Monday to Saturday from Friday October 30th until the last trading day on Friday 18th December.
