Gregg Wallace forced to sell parent company
Putney's Wallace & Co did not reopen after the Christmas break as MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace was forced to sell its parent company Wallace Cafes.
The Sun on Sunday reported that a close friend of Gregg said:
" Gregg’s not in a happy place - his business empire is collapsing around him. He was forced to sell the restaurant so no one would go bankrupt. But it’s devastating for him after pouring so much cash into it."
Wallace's greengrocers business, West Veg, collapsed in March 2013 with debts of £500,000.
A local resident was suprised to hear of it's closing:
"No! That's sad. We had a very good Christmas lunch there."
